Corrections
Every error found on this site, dated, with what was wrong and what was done about it. It is empty today because the site is new, not because nothing will ever be wrong with it.
No corrections logged
Site published 25 August 2026. Nothing has been reported yet. An empty log on a new site means only that; if this page is still empty in a year, treat that as a finding about us rather than a compliment.
The policy
| Element | Rule |
|---|---|
| What gets logged | Any factual error: a wrong figure, a wrong source, a misdescribed dataset, a broken join, a mischaracterised rule. |
| What does not get logged | Typos, broken links, and styling faults. Those are fixed silently, because logging them would bury the entries that matter. |
| The date shown | The date the error was reported, not the date it was fixed. The gap between them is the interesting part and hiding it defeats the purpose. |
| Attribution | The reporter is credited if they want to be, and not named if they do not. Anonymous reports are welcome and treated identically. |
| Scope | Corrections cover figures we published. Where a source agency revises its own data, that is a data update and appears in the vintage on the methodology page rather than here. |
| Removal | Entries are never removed. A correction that becomes embarrassing later is still a correction that happened. |
| Include | Why it helps |
|---|---|
| The page URL and the specific figure or sentence | Removes the ambiguity that turns a two-minute check into an hour |
| What you believe it should be | Lets us reproduce your reasoning rather than guess at it |
| Your source, if you have one | A primary source resolves most disputes immediately |
| Nothing at all beyond "this looks wrong" | Still worth sending. We would rather check ten hunches than miss one error. |
| Likely error | How it would surface | How we would catch it |
|---|---|---|
| A hospital assigned to the wrong county | A facility appearing in a county it is not in | A reader who knows the area. County matching is described step by step on the methodology page so it is checkable. |
| A source revised after we pulled it | Our figure no longer matching the current file | Vintage dates on every figure; a revision is a data update rather than a correction, and is noted in the methodology. |
| A withheld value coloured rather than hatched | A county filled in where the source publishes nothing | The single worst error possible here. Report it and it goes to the top of the log. |
| A modelled figure presented as measured | A tool output described as a measurement | The tools label modelled rows in the result panel. If one does not, that is a correction. |
| A statutory or rule reference mischaracterised | A paraphrase that does not match the linked primary text | We link primary text precisely so the paraphrase can be checked against it. |
| An arithmetic error in a tool | A result that cannot be reproduced from the shown working | Every tool shows its equations. If the working and the answer disagree, the answer is wrong. |
